Dear colleagues and friends!

Let me personally and on behalf of the Russian Academy of Sciences greet the participants and guests of the international forum “Transportation science: innovative business solutions”. I am confident that further development and improvement of the transportation science in Russia must be backed by the state of the art knowledge.

Nowadays, such scientific forums as this one, which has brought together experts representing different modes of transportation with the aim to discuss innovative principles of the industry’s development as a whole, are ever more relevant.

The academics together with the representatives of public authorities and business community are to discuss new principles of developing the transportation, which first took shape at the Russian scientific and practical conference “Transportation of Russia at the turn of the century”, to examine the methodology and ways of implementation, principles of organizing and functioning of transportation systems, development of laws and regulations, means to turn  R&D ideas into commercial application, and also how to make transportation science more attractive for academics and businessmen.

I am confident that the International forum “Transportation science: innovative business solutions” will make a considerable contribution to the development of transportation science and industry.

I wish all the participants active and fruitful work, innovative solutions and their successful implementation.
