Business Dialogue has the honour of being appointed technical operator for organising the FIDE World Chess Championship Match, which , for the first time in 27 years, is to be held in Moscow on 11–31 May 2012.

The duel between the reigning world champion Viswanathan Anand (India) and the challenger Boris Gelfand (Israel) will take place at the “treasure house of Russian culture”, the State Tretyakov Gallery. Watching the match at the Engineering Building of the State Tretyakov Gallery will be professional chess players, heads of chess federations, businessmen and government officials.

The FIDE World Chess Title match will determine the world’s top chess player. Traditionally, the winner of the candidates’ tournament is allowed to challenge the reigning world champion. The winner becomes the World Chess Champion for the next two years.

Presidential Aide Arkady Dvorkovich, Chairman of the Supervisory Council of the Russian Chess Federation (RCF), said during the signing of the contract for the match: “We are glad that FIDE has decided to award the match to the RCF and Moscow. We are pleased that the world’s leading chess players have put their trust in Russia and are ready to play the world title match in our country.”
