III International Rail Salon EXPO 1520: the Primary Showcase for Rail Transport and Technologies in Area 1520 (across the Wide Gauge)

From September 7 to 10 2011, the VNIIZHT's Testing Track experimental ring  (Scherbinka, Moscow Region) will host the III International Rail Salon EXPO 1520 - the only specialized exhibition in the post-Soviet and Eastern European railway industry.

The III International Rail Salon EXPO 1520 has significantly increased its exhibition space – compared to 2009, there will be 30% more open areas and 30% more pavilions.

Approximately 300  businesses and organizations from Russia and other countries will use the exhibition to display the varied range of modern railway machinery and technology.

In 4 specialized pavilions and on open areas presentations will include: freight and passenger rolling stock, including the latest versions and experimental models; projects dedicated to modernization of the railway infrastructure; equipment facilitating machinery production and servicing; innovative groundwork for all branches of the industry; information technology in transportation; effective logistical and rail-transport technologies, and much more.

 For the first time ever the EXPO 1520 will demonstration rolling stock in action.  Specialists and other visitors will have a unique opportunity to watch as locomotives, railway wagons and other railway machinery confirm their declared specifications on the rails of VNIIZHT's Testing Track. The machinery parade will feature across all days of the Salon.

A crucial and indispensable part of the Salon is its business programme.

On September 7 and 8 the IV International Conference Railway Engineering: Prospects, Technologies, Priorities, will be held, the exhibition's main business event. Conference attendees will examine how railway manufacturing helps modernise Russia’s economy through encouraging larger production of innovative and high-tech equipment.

September 9 is The Youth Day.

On September 7-10 a series of practical seminars and master classes will be held, with participation of leading Russian and foreign experts.

For reference: In 2009, EXPO 1520 included 247 companies from 12 countries, with over 500 people participating in the Conference. In overall, there were 10,317 attendees, including 5,017 railway industry specialists.
