The first International Forum “Transport science: innovative solutions for business” will take place on 22–23 March 2011 in Moscow. The event is being held with the support of Russian Railways, and is organised by Business Dialogue.

The main objective of this scientific forum is to create the conditions for effective communication between senior executives of the railway business and representatives of the scientific and expert community of various countries with the aim of jointly determining the priority areas of development for scientific work.

World trends in innovative solutions for railway transport, innovative activity priorities, “green” transport, environmental factors of competition in the transport market, and increasing energy efficiency – these and other issues will be discussed by the participants in the first International Forum “Transport science: innovative solutions for business”.

Those invited to take part in the forum include representatives of the legislative and executive government authorities of the Russian Federation, senior executives in the railway business, including Vladimir Yakunin, President of RZD, Igor Levitin, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Andrei Fursenko, Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shishkaryov, Chairman of the Transport Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, and representatives of the scientific and expert community.

Those invited to participate on behalf of the scientific community include the Russian Nanotechnology Corporation, the Russian Railway Transport Research Institute, the Higher Transport Business School of the Moscow State University of Railway Engineering, the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the N. E. Bauman Moscow State Technical University, the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) (Germany), the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, and others.

The forum will gather representatives of the CIS countries, the Baltic countries, Germany, Finland, Great Britain and others to its venue.
