Anatoly Kitsura, director general of Business Dialogue, has been appointed as a member of the Public Council at the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.

Mr Kitsura will already take part in his first session of the Public Council at the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation on 7 September 2010 as a representative of public opinion. The session will focus on the problem of the logging of the Khimki forest for constructing a motorway from Moscow to St Petersburg.  

For reference: Igor Levitin, minister of transport, issued a decree on 26 April 2007 to form the Public Council at the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. The purpose for forming the Public Council is to have the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation interact comprehensively with the public and provide for cooperation in developing transport infrastructure, offering quality service for the public and cargo owners, and elaborating on surveying and cartography issues.
