The III International Rail Salon “EXPO 1520”, the only international rail salon in the “1520 area”, will take place from 7 to 10 September 2011 in the town of Shcherbinka, near Moscow, at the Russian Railway Research Institute’s Experimental Ring.

Despite the fact that this is only the third time the Salon is being held, it has already managed to win high marks from experts in the transport industry and has established a reputation as an effective arena for cooperation between manufacturers, suppliers and consumers of transport – and in particular railway – goods and services. For companies that specialise in this area, the Salon is a real opportunity to make themselves known in the Russian railway market, to demonstrate their own products and to attract new partners and clients.

The main sections of the III International Rail Salon “EXPO 1520” will be:

• railway equipment and technologies
• railway infrastructure and construction
• freight transport
• passenger rail transport
• information technology in transport

• navigation systems and resources
• support systems in transport etc

Salon participants and visitors will have the opportunity to see the latest transport technologies, presentations of innovative projects, and a demonstration of full-scale equipment on a railway track, including “retro” steam locomotives and the latest generation of trains, and much more besides.

This year’s Salon promises to be the biggest in terms of the numbers of exhibits, participants in the railway conference and visitors. In addition, the range of countries from which participants will come is expanding: four months before the official opening, the list of participants in the exhibition already includes companies from 14 countries.

On the final day of the Salon, in addition to the business programme there will be a Day of Open Tracks, where visitors will find a packed programme of entertainment.
