Independent directors are again going to supervise the work of the Forum. This year Mikhail Berger, General Director of the United Media Holding Company, Mikhail Dmitriyev, President of the Centre for Strategic Research Foundation, and Carl-Stefan Neumann, Director of the Frankfurt office of McKinsey & Company, have already been elected as independent directors.

The institution of independent directors was introduced at the IV International Rail Business Forum “1520 Strategic Partnership” in 2009 with the aim of gaining a fresh view of the discussions and the topicality of the forum’s business programme. The opinion of authoritative business leaders who are not connected with the railway industry makes it possible to see new potential for developing the forum and is one of the key criteria for assessing its success.
The forum will take place in Sochi from 31 May to 2 June 2011. The key theme of the forum is “The 1520 and 1435 transport systems: a strategy for cooperation”. The Forum’s organiser is Business Dialogue and its general partner is Russian Railways.
The Forum will discuss issues concerning the development of the railway industry in the Eurasian area.
Business leaders will take part in the Forum’s plenary session and business events.
