One of Russia's leading transport-related higher education establishments, the Moscow State University of Railway Engineering (MIIT), and Siemens AG, a world leader in the field of electronics and electrical equipment, have reached an agreement regarding future cooperation, which will be officially signed during the "1520 Strategic Partnership" forum taking place in Sochi from 31 May to 2 June.

According to this agreement, the two sides will undertake scientific cooperation in the following areas:

• Energy saving technologies, diagnostics and energy auditing.
• Electricity supply systems for railway transport.
• Railway automation and telecontrol systems.
• Rolling stock for high-speed and heavyweight traffic.
• Human resources in the transport industry.

In addition to this, the agreement stipulates cooperation between the two sides in the areas of preparing joint investment and integration projects in various fields, and also training, retraining and upskilling of specialists on the basis of adapting the university's relevant teaching programmes to the required level for training the company's future staff.

The document will be signed by Boris Levin, Rector of MIIT, and Hans-JoergGrundmann, Vice President of Siemens AG.
