On behalf of the Transport Committee of the Russian State Duma and myself personally, I would like to greet the participants, guests and organisers of the Passenger Forum – 2011.

The passenger sector plays a key role in meeting people’s needs for transportation, so a client focus, innovative approaches to shaping various types of transport network, and a modern legislative framework are vital to the sector’s dynamic development.

Holding the first Passenger Forum in Russia will allow the situation in the sector to be assessed comprehensively, provide an opportunity for exchanging ideas about the development of passenger transport and for focusing on promising transport activities.
