On behalf of the Board of Russian Railways JSC and on my own behalf, I welcome the organisers, participants and guests of the 14th Moscow International Exhibition and Conference for Transport and Logistics.
Railways have always played a system forming role in the Russian economy and have always been the most important transport network for passenger and freight transportation in Europe and Asia. That is why failure-free operation of Russian railways based, among others, on the newest technical achievements appears to be a top priority factor for the country.
But what is the basis for the efficiency of this process at present, in conditions of the world financial crisis? I believe that only innovative, high-technological development path can not only support the industry, but also give an additional impulse to it.
And at this very moment, TransRussia Exhibition and Conference, which has proved its topicality and efficiency during the past years, should become a ground for solving the most critical issues in the field of technique and technology, bringing up the most topical issues and signing beneficial contracts.
I have no doubts that it will contribute to the soonest introduction of state-of-the-art transport, logistic and information technologies and the overall development of the transport industry.
From the bottom of my heart, I wish the organisers, participants and guests of the Conference productive work and mutually beneficial cooperation with new partners.
