 VI International Conference “Transport Service Market: Interaction and Partnership. 10 Years to Railway Reform”
The VI International Conference “Transport Service Market: Interaction and Partnership. 10 Years to Railway Reform” will take place at  Crocus Expo in Moscow on October 29 and 30, 2008, with Business Dialog Ltd. and the editorial board of the RZD-Partner magazine as its co-organizers.
This year’s conference will address the most pressing challenges facing the market of transport services. The two-days forum will allow the participants to discuss the following issues: progress of the railway reform; potential strategic planning of Russian railways’ operation; modernization of the long-haul rail transportation market; interaction of transport market players under the conditions of the ongoing reform; Russian railways’ investment prospects; international lessons learnt of railway reforms; innovative transport technologies and best practices in the relations of RZD JSC and rail operators; the challenges of forming the transport service market and tariff regulation.
The VI International Conference “Transport Service Market: Interaction and Partnership. 10 Years to Railway Reform” will be attended by deputy Prime Minister Sergey Ivanov, Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, RZD JSC President Vladimir Yakunin, Russian Transport Minister Igor Levitin, deputy Prime Minister and RZD Chairman Alexander Zhukov, Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina, as well as Russian legislators from the State Duma and the Federation Council, heads of federal ministries and agencies, top-managers of leading Russian and foreign companies operating in the railway sector, and representatives of the business community.
October 30, 2008 will see the briefing as part of the second day of the conference, which will be devoted to the role played by the modernization of the Russian railways in the course of the reform of country’s natural monopolies. Celebrity guest speakers at the briefing will include Industry and Trade Minister Viktor Khristenko, Director of the Transitional Economy Institute Yegor Gaidar, deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee Valery Golubev, member of the supervisory board of the Russian Nanotechnology Corporation  Anatoly Chubais and some others.
The Conference will end with the award ceremony dedicated to the 10th jubilee of the RZD-Partner magazine.
