   Let me greet the participants, guests, and organizers of II International Conference “Railway Engineering. Perspectives, Technologies, Priorities” on behalf of Federal Agency of Railway Transportation of Russian Federation.

   Today dynamically developing economy of Russia needs a unified transportation system meeting the most state-of-the-art demands, highly profitable, stimulating general growth of production in the country, comfortable for passengers, beneficial and accessible for manufacturers of products and consignees.

   It is known that perfection of transportation system is impossible without creation of up to date railway machinery, attraction of global investment into this industry and extension of system of factories producing railway rolling stock of new generations.

   These and many other important issues in railway field will be discussed in course of work of II International Conference “Railway Engineering. Perspectives, Technologies, Priorities”. One of the major tasks of the industry is to direct relationships between manufacturers of railway machinery and its consumers to a new qualitative level.

   I hope the participants of II International Conference “Railway Engineering. Perspectives, Technologies, Priorities” will have fruitful and constructive discussion. I would like them also to gain full mutual understanding in their discussions during this important event and I wish them prosperity and further progress in this important field of activity, which is railway transportation.
