Dear colleagues,

On behalf of Russian Railways and myself, I would like to welcome the participants and guests of Passenger Forum-2011.

Well thought-through and balanced steps to reform the passenger transport network and its further improvement are emerging as the chief conditions for the national transport system’s effective and efficient work; they are essential for upgrading passenger-service quality and supporting public mobility.

Successfully developing passenger transport is possible only should it function smoothly and reliably. Railways are an inalienable part of making sure this happens.

The Passenger Forum will bring together a broad range of transport experts to discuss a number of pressing issues, exchange experience and ideas. This will have a positive impact on market participants joint work in creating innovative approaches for fostering railway passenger transport, improving its safety and quality of service.

I am confident that Passenger Forum-2011 will make a positive contribution to augmenting passenger transport.
