On behalf of the Transport Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and myself personally I send greetings to the participants, guests and organisers of the VIII International Conference “Transport Service Market: Cooperation and Partnership”.

Today, at a time when the transport services market is rapidly changing, the priority areas are still the search for an efficient balance between the economic component and the social benefits of transport, the creation of a fully competitive environment, the focusing of resources on the industry’s strategic priorities, and the active development of public–private partnership systems. There is no doubt that the efficient development of the transportation industry is directly dependent on the improvement of transport legislation in keeping with the current economic situation and modernisation processes.

I believe that holding the annual International Conference “Transport Service Market: Cooperation and Partnership” will enable us to develop new and efficient solutions for achieving our goals.
