An Franco-Russian Transport Conference entitled “Russia - Europe: The Prospects of a Unified Transport Network” will take place in Paris on 2 December 2011.

The conference is being held under the aegis of the Franco-Russian Dialogue Association. Russian Railways is acting as the general partner for the conference.

The international conference is focused on examining the key issues concerning the functioning of the freight and passenger transport market in the pan-European region in terms of the main types of transport.

The event is expected to stimulate international cooperation between Russian and European companies in the field of transport, with an emphasis on implementing joint projects to modernise the transport infrastructure, to produce modern engineering products and to improve the management of the transport process in cross-border traffic.

Senior officials from Russian and French government bodies related to the transport industry and leaders of international organisations, industry unions and associations, major transport companies and engineering plants, as well as the leadership of the national railway administrations in Russia and France and representatives of financial institutions, will be taking part in the event.
